Step 3Wrap the new tape
Start at the end of the bar: leave half the width of the tape hanging over, to be tucked in later by the bar plug. Wrap upwards while pulling the tape evenly, each turn overlapping the one before by about a third.
On the right side, wrap clockwise as seen from behind the bike, and the other way on the left: your hands, which roll outwards as they pull, then tighten the tape instead of unwinding it. Around each hood, fold its rubber cover back and wrap in a figure of eight, leaving no gaps.
